AllPress Collaboration - Limited Edition Loaf Cake

AllPress got in touch with us to collaborate on their upcoming limited edition coffee special.

The brief : We're launching a beautiful coffee from DR Congo. The cooperative it comes from consists of several female smallholders and we're keen to celebrate women's often overlooked contribution to coffee, especially in the amount of labour they contribute on the production side. 

We've had a central piece of art created by Joelle Avelino, a London based artist, that represents Congolese women finding joy and reasons to celebrate in everything they do, as well as some references to the flavours of the coffee - black tea, honey and floral notes.

We were wondering if you might be interested in doing a limited edition cake to match the flavour notes? 

The cake :  The EKB team created a cake to match the flavour notes of the new coffee blend at All Press : black tea, honey and floral notes. Swipe for the full details in the brief. This cake was available to purchase by the slice on the counters at All Press Dalston & Shoreditch sites across October and November 2022.

For us, it was imperative to develop a recipe that would sit well on the counter. The final result is a soft loaf made with yoghurt, orange blossom and honey, with flecks of toasted flaked almond and black tea for a beautiful visual and texture. We’ve incorporated a soak of orange and honey to keep the cake delicious for days and we’ve topped it off with a honeyed cream cheese, toasted flaked almonds and vibrant orange calendula petals
